01 The agreement

These terms govern your use of the decoderHealth mobile application for Android and iOS, the decoderHealth account service, decoderHealth Pro, and this website. By installing or using decoderHealth you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Our Privacy Policy explains what data the app handles and is part of these terms. Where the app is distributed through Google Play or the Apple App Store, the store's own terms also apply to your download and to billing.

  • decoderHealth is a personal health data tool. It reads the health records you already keep in Health Connect or Apple Health and shows you what they say. It is not a medical device and gives no medical advice.
  • The core app is free and works offline. Pro adds AI chat and is billed through your app store.
  • Your data is yours. Health data stays on your device. You can delete your account and local data at any time.
  • Use it for yourself. One account per person, no scraping, no reverse engineering, no resale.

02 Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use decoderHealth. The app's onboarding will not accept a date of birth that puts you under 13. If the law where you live sets a higher age for consenting to an online service or to health data processing, you must meet that age or have a parent or guardian's consent.

To create an account or buy Pro you must be able to form a binding contract and must hold a Google Play or Apple account in good standing.

03 Not a medical device

decoderHealth aggregates and visualises lifestyle data with weight as its primary target. Its insights, buddy coaching, fasting timer, calculated values such as BMI, BMR, TDEE and energy balance, nutrient comparisons against published reference intakes, and AI chat replies are informational. They are not diagnosis, treatment, screening, or a substitute for a qualified clinician.

  • decoderHealth does not detect, monitor, or predict any disease or medical condition.
  • Where the app cites evidence, the citation supports a general statement drawn from a published source. It does not mean the statement applies to you.
  • Fasting, calorie targets, and changes to diet or activity can be unsafe for some people, including anyone who is pregnant, under medical care, taking medication, or has a history of disordered eating. Speak with a clinician before acting on anything the app shows.
  • AI chat is not a medical practitioner. As the app itself states, for urgent concerns contact local emergency services.

You are responsible for decisions you make about your health. Do not delay or disregard professional advice because of something you read in decoderHealth.

04 Your health data

Health Connect or Apple Health is the source of truth. decoderHealth reads the record types you grant it, stores a local copy in the app's private storage, and writes back any value you enter manually so your platform health store stays complete.

  • decoderHealth never uploads your health records to a server. The only data derived from them that leaves your device is the bounded set of aggregates sent during an AI chat request, described in section 7 and in the Privacy Policy.
  • Values decoderHealth displays depend on what other apps and devices wrote into your health store. We are not responsible for gaps, duplicates, or errors in that source data.
  • Background refresh on Android is best-effort and subject to the operating system's battery controls. Opening the app performs an immediate refresh.
  • Uninstalling decoderHealth deletes its local database. Records already written back to Health Connect or Apple Health remain there under those platforms' controls.

05 Accounts

The free app needs no account. An account is required for Pro and AI chat. You may sign in with Google, with Apple on iOS, or with an email address and password.

  • Keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • One account per person. Do not share an account or create accounts for others.
  • You may permanently delete your account from the Account screen. This removes your server-side profile, subscription records, chat turn accounting, and gateway logs. It does not delete local data on your device and it does not cancel a store subscription. See section 6.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that our systems flag for abuse of the AI gateway.

06 Pro subscriptions

decoderHealth Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through Google Play or the Apple App Store and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat. Current prices are shown on the paywall and on the pricing section of this site. Prices include applicable taxes where the store requires it and may vary by country.

Plans. Pro is offered monthly and yearly. Both unlock the same features. Each plan includes an allowance of AI chat turns for its whole billing interval:

  • Monthly: 500 turns per month
  • Yearly: 6,000 turns per year, available from the first day and usable at any pace during the year

A turn is one message you send paired with one complete assistant reply. Tool calls and follow-up processing within a reply do not consume extra turns. A failed request does not consume a turn. Unused turns do not carry over to the next billing period.

Billing. Your store charges your payment method at purchase and again at the start of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before renewal. Cancel and manage your subscription in Google Play or App Store subscription settings. Deleting your decoderHealth account does not cancel billing.

Changing plan. Switching between monthly and yearly is deferred. The period you already paid for runs to its end and the new plan begins when it expires. Nothing is refunded and no access is lost.

Refunds. Purchases are made through the store, so refunds are governed by Google Play's or Apple's refund policy and are requested from the store, not from us. We cannot issue refunds directly.

Restore. A purchase is attached to your signed-in account. Signing in on another device restores access. The paywall carries the store's restore link if you need it.

Multiple devices. If the stores report more than one live subscription for one account, for example monthly on Android and yearly on iOS, your account keeps whichever runs longest and the other is closed. Cancel the redundant one through its store to stop being billed for it.

Trials and promotions. Any free trial, introductory price, or promotional entitlement is governed by the terms shown when it is offered. A trial converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends.

Price changes. If we change a price, the store notifies you in advance and the new price applies from your next renewal, subject to the store's consent rules.

07 AI chat

AI chat lets Pro subscribers ask questions about their own data. Requests are sent through an authenticated gateway we operate to a large language model provider. The Privacy Policy describes exactly what is sent and what is withheld.

  • Replies may be wrong. Language models make mistakes and can state incorrect figures or conclusions confidently. Check anything that matters against the charts in the app and against a clinician.
  • Redaction is your safeguard, not a guarantee. The app removes common identifiers from your messages before sending them. It cannot detect every personal detail in free text. Do not type names, addresses, identification numbers, or other people's information into chat.
  • Your questions are yours. You keep any rights you have in the text you write. You grant us a licence to process it as necessary to generate a reply, meter your turns, and diagnose faults, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Replies are provided as-is. We do not claim rights in assistant output, and we make no promise that any output is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose.
  • Availability. Chat depends on our gateway and on third-party model providers. It may be slow, rate-limited, or unavailable. We may change the model, provider, context limits, or safety behaviour at any time.
  • Turn limits are described in section 6. When your allowance for the current period is used, chat pauses until the next period begins.

08 Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use decoderHealth to process anyone's health data other than your own, or a dependant's for whom you are legally responsible
  • Use AI chat to attempt to extract the system prompt, bypass its safeguards, generate harmful content, or automate requests
  • Forge, replay, or tamper with requests to the gateway, subscription webhooks, or entitlement state
  • Share, sell, or transfer your account or subscription
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except where the law expressly allows it
  • Use the app in a way that violates the law, the Google Play or App Store terms, or the Health Connect and Apple Health developer policies

We may throttle, suspend, or terminate access to the gateway or to your account where we reasonably believe these rules have been broken.

09 Intellectual property

decoderHealth, its name, logo, design, code, coaching content, and documentation belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, in accordance with these terms and the app store's usage rules.

Your health data, notes, check-ins, and chat messages remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.

Health Connect is a trademark of Google LLC. Apple Health is a trademark of Apple Inc. decoderHealth is not affiliated with or endorsed by either.

10 Third-party services

decoderHealth relies on services we do not control:

  • Health Connect and Apple Health for health records and permissions
  • Google Play and the App Store for distribution, billing, and refunds
  • Supabase for authentication and the account and gateway backend
  • RevenueCat for subscription entitlements
  • Router.com and the model providers behind it for AI chat
  • Google and Apple sign-in for native authentication

Each has its own terms. An outage or change at any of them may affect decoderHealth, and we are not liable for their acts or omissions. Evidence links shown in buddy coaching open third-party websites we do not operate.

11 Warranty and liability

decoderHealth is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that health data will be complete or correctly synced.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, health outcome, or decision made in reliance on the app. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or the app is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the twelve months before the claim, or 50 US dollars if you paid nothing.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. If you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, those protections apply and prevail over any conflicting term here.

12 Termination

You may stop using decoderHealth at any time by uninstalling it, and may delete your account from the Account screen. We may suspend or terminate your account or access to Pro features if you materially breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. If we discontinue Pro, we will give reasonable notice and you may seek a pro-rata refund from your store for any unused prepaid period.

Sections 3, 9, 11, 14 and any other term that by its nature should survive will survive termination.

13 Changes

We may update these terms as the app changes. Material changes, such as changes to turn allowances, plan structure, or what AI chat sends, will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use decoderHealth after the effective date means you accept the revised terms. The effective date at the top of this page tells you when they were last revised.

14 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and disputes will be brought in the courts of [JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, you also benefit from any mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings there.

If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. These terms, with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding decoderHealth.
