decoderPro adds AI chat to decoderHealth. The assistant can use conversation context and bounded summaries of supported recorded metrics. This guide explains how access works and how a conversation differs from core tracking and local Buddy suggestions.
What chat can help you explore
You can ask about recorded activity, nutrition, sleep, weight, fasting, and other supported summaries. When relevant, the assistant requests selected metrics for daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly windows. Those summaries come from the records available on your device.
A result describes recorded data. A period without food logs does not establish zero consumption, and a day still in progress contains amounts recorded so far. The assistant does not diagnose or prescribe.
Starting a conversation
1. Sign in and check your subscription
Open Account to sign in and explore decoderPro. Starting a chat requires an active entitlement associated with that account. Current prices and period allowances appear inside the app.
2. Open Chat and ask a question
Use a starter prompt or start your own chat. An internet connection is required. While a response is pending, status text indicates when the assistant is thinking or gathering metrics, with the selected Buddy alongside it.
How recorded summaries are used
The assistant can request only supported metrics within bounded windows. Application checks enforce that scope. A summary can include available daily estimates as well as recorded values, so its dates and source context matter when reading the answer.
The app sends conversation context and selected health summaries online. Direct identifiers are filtered before requests. This filtering does not mean every piece of health context is anonymous or stays on your device.
History, search, and deletion
The launcher shows the five most recently updated sessions. All chats opens the complete locally retained list. Search matches both session titles and message text, so a conversation can appear because of a relevant passage inside it.
Visible conversations sync to the paid account and can be brought to another signed-in device with eligible access. Deleting a session uses the account-linked history flow. Chat history is distinct from the local-only fasting and Check-In records.
Subscription and connection limits
Chat is the paid feature; metric charts, fasting, Check-Ins, and local Buddy suggestions remain available without Pro. Signing out, an inactive entitlement, or an exhausted period allowance can prevent a new turn from completing.
Connection and provider failures produce an in-app response that lets you review the failure and retry when appropriate. Subscription access does not make every device record available: missing permissions or source data still limit health summaries.
Data retained outside visible history
Visible chat history and gateway diagnostics are separate. Diagnostic metadata and health-tool results may be retained even after user and assistant text is scrubbed from a settled diagnostic turn. Removing a visible conversation should not be read as a guarantee that every operational record has been erased.
Keep identifying information and account credentials out of chat. For questions about the app's behavior, use the contact page without including private health records.
Choose the feature for the task
Use a metric chart when you want to inspect a measurement, Fasting for timed sessions, and Check-In for personal observations. Your Buddy offers local suggestions. Chat adds a conversation about selected recorded summaries when your account and subscription provide access.
