decoderHealth Quick Start Guide

Introduction

Welcome to the decoderHealth Quick Start Guide. decoderHealth brings connected health records and local habit tracking into one app. This guide covers your profile, health permissions, and the five main destinations: Dashboard, Metrics, Fasting, Check-In, and Chat.

Getting started with decoderHealth

Installation & setup

decoderHealth uses Health Connect on Android and Apple Health on iOS for connected metrics. Available data depends on your device, the records supplied by your other apps, and the permissions you grant. Contact the team for current app availability.

  1. Open decoderHealth and complete the profile flow.
  2. Choose your preferred measurement units and confirm your time zone.
  3. Enter the profile information used by dashboard calculations, including height and your weight goal.
  4. Review the health connection panel and grant the read permissions you want to use.
  5. Allow decoderHealth to refresh, then open Dashboard or Metrics to review available records.

Your profile & first visit

Your profile can be edited in Settings. Unit preferences change how measurements are displayed; your profile time zone defines the days used by summaries. Missing source data can leave a chart empty even when its permission has been granted.

Key features

1. Connected health metrics

Explore weight, steps, activity, energy intake, nutrients, sleep, water, glucose, and cycle records. Each metric has its own chart and history. Pull to refresh when you want to check for changes from your connected health source.

2. Manual entries

Use the metric's entry control to record a supported measurement or session. Supported manual entries can be written back when the corresponding write permission is granted. Some imported series, including calorie aggregates, remain read-only.

3. Fasting & Check-In

Fasting provides an adjustable timer and editable completed-session history. Check-In records mood and energy with optional descriptions, notes, and body observations. Both are stored locally in decoderHealth, separate from Health Connect or Apple Health.

4. Dashboard Buddy & optional chat

Your Buddy offers local suggestions based on recorded data. Choose or import a supported Buddy in Settings. decoderPro adds online AI chat for a signed-in account with an active subscription. Core tracking does not require Pro.

Troubleshooting & support

Missing measurements

Confirm the source app has written records to Health Connect or Apple Health. Review decoderHealth's read permissions and pull to refresh. A missing record does not establish that no activity, sleep, or intake occurred.

Health connection permissions

Read and write permissions have different purposes. Reading brings source records into charts; writing allows supported manual entries to be sent back. Denying one metric does not require denying every other metric.

Where to get help

Read the user guide or contact the team. Include your device and the affected feature, without sending personal health records or account credentials.

Your next step

Start with the dashboard, then open a metric you already record. Add fasting or a Check-In when you want to keep those observations alongside your connected health data.
